𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗮 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲
From 11–14 February 2026, the PIASVC Project under Helvetas Laos organised a legal dissemination and capacity-building training in Ban Nasavang, Namor District, Oudomxay Province.
More than 30 local participants joined the training to deepen their understanding of land and natural resource laws. The sessions were led by trainers from CDEA, in collaboration with district government officials who had completed Training of Trainers at the central level. A project partner lawyer also provided technical guidance to strengthen understanding of legal procedures and justice-related processes.
What We Achieved
- Strengthened the capacity of local authorities to interpret and apply land laws effectively
- Improved understanding of land rights and legal land-use boundaries
- Reduced the risk of future land-use right losses
- Enhanced case documentation and mediation practices at the village level
- Reinforced community dispute resolution mechanisms, helping prevent case escalation
- Promoted responsible agricultural investment that respects community rights
