Implementation Management Committee Meeting for the Public Information and Awareness Services for Vulnerable Communities (PIASVC) project, at Oudomxay province on 19-21 March 2025
The PIASVC project, under Helvetas Laos, held an Implementation Management Committee (IMC) meeting on 19-21 March 2025 at Oudomxay province. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Leevameng Libouapao, Deputy Director General of the Department of Land, MoNRE; Mr. Mone Sysavath, Deputy Country Director of Helvetas Laos; Mr. Somdy Tengbriacheu, Head of PONRE of Oudomxay; and Mr. Kongkham Xayphompanh, Deputy Head of Cabinet Office in Oudomxay province, and invited guests, including IMC members, government officials from provincial-level Department of Natural Resources and Environment from Xekong province, Bolikhamxay province, Vientiane province, Xiengkhouang province and Oudomxay province , and 4 PIASVC subgrantees.
On 20 March 2025, the participants visited Kiewpha village in Houn district, to observe the dissemination of information about land law and natural resources organized by GDA. The main topic of the session was about Women Land right and Gender Equality. Many villagers gathered to receive information, especially women. They all actively participated in the activity, answering questions and playing games with the organizers. The session was translated into Hmong and Khmu to ensure the greatest number of participants would receive and understand the information provided on their land-related rights.
