The PIASVC project, under Helvetas Laos, held an Implementation Management Committee (IMC) meeting on September 5, 2024, at the Donchan Palace Hotel. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Anothay Chanthalasy, Deputy Director General of the Department of Lands, MoNRE, Mr. Jesper Elias Lauridsen, General Director of Helvetas, invited guests, including participants from IMC, government officials from provincial-level Departments of Natural Resources and Environment (5 provinces), and 5 social organizations (CSOs), totaling 40 participants.
The meeting's purpose was for the PIASVC project to report on the progress of its implementation plan and present an analysis of the Baseline survey data collection on people's awareness of land law and natural resources in the target villages. Additionally, the meeting was also an opportunity for the CSOs and provincial Departments of Natural Resources and Environment to share and learn from each other's implementation experiences in the past several months. This meeting emphasized the importance of clear communications and joint implementation by all stakeholders in this multi-layered project. Coordination between 5 Government bodies is essential for trainers from the central public sector to cascade training at the provincial and district levels in order to equip them to disseminate knowledge to the grassroots levels.
