From 6 to 10 June 2022, the Land Information Working Group (LIWG) in coordination with Helvetas Laos held a Training of Trainers on “Diversity and Gender Inclusion & Community Strengthening on Women's Land Rights and Gender Equality Tools” for PIASVC project provided coaching during these 5 days by Phetsakhone Somphongbouthakanh, a GESI Consultant, together with members of Community of Practice on Women Land Rights. The training was participated by PIASVC’s sub-grantees who are LIWG's members in order to gain their experiences and knowledge before implementing activities and disseminating information in their project sites.
The series of PIASVC’s trainings are related to land and natural resources, gender and social inclusion, access to justice and legal counseling for LIWG’s members sub-granted by PIASVC project. This 2nd ToT focuses on diversity, gender equality and social inclusion regarding land rights.
The highlight of this training was that LIWG's core members from other organization who are interested in "the Community Strengthening on Women's Land Rights and Gender Equality Tools" to learn and understand the tools' objectives, methods and appropriate adjustments to the site. In addition to this, the CoP team in WLR, which was created and formed by LIWG, took participation in leading activities, providing lessons and demonstrating the tools during the training.
This training is a significant step for those participants with different experiences and backgrounds to understand and exchange thoughts among diversity, gender equality and social inclusion as well as the tools which will be used appropriately in each organization’s project areas.
